As 2023 comes to an end, we would like to take a moment to acknowledge all that we are thankful for this year. Not only did we host a variety of events open to our partners and the general public, but we increased the amount of supportive services opportunities offered to our residents. This year, residents visited our no-cost food share programs 5,798 times and attended on-site community events 2,678 times. Providing supportive services is at the heart of Archway’s mission, and we are extremely grateful for the continued support that we receive, allowing us to develop new, inclusive programming each year.
In addition to our internal operations, Archway celebrated a few major milestones this year. Below is a brief snapshot of 2023, including five of our favorite moments. From all of us at Archway, we wish you a happy and healthy new year, and we look forward to seeing you in 2024!
Mosaic Community Campus Groundbreaking
In May, Archway celebrated the Mosaic Community Campus Groundbreaking. Located on the former Johnson & Wales University Denver campus, Mosaic Community Campus will offer 154 apartments for individuals and families. In addition to housing, residents will have access to a variety of community spaces, including schools, a community kitchen, and on-site Supportive Services Coordinators. As 2023 comes to a close, construction is well underway at Archway’s 10th community. We look forward to welcoming residents home in mid-2024, and we encourage you to join our Mosaic Community Campus Interest List if you, or someone you know, is interested in Archway’s upcoming community.
Enterprise Renter Wealth Creation Fund
Archway is thrilled to be the inaugural partner in Enterprise Community Partners’ Renter Wealth Creation Fund. Announced earlier this year, the Renter Wealth Creation Fund offers wealth-building opportunities to renters that have previously only been available to homeowners, including monthly cash back, resident services, and shared appreciation. Of Archway’s nine communities, Sheridan Ridge and Willow Green are the two participating in the Renter Wealth Creation Fund. Archway’s partnership with Enterprise Community Partners has already taken shape and, over time, residents will begin to build wealth on par with homeowners in the surrounding Denver Metro area.
Robinson Place Grand Opening
This fall, we welcomed 67 residents to their new home at Robinson Place. Located in Lakewood, our newest community for adults ages 62+ offers affordable housing solutions in addition to on-site supportive services. These services include community events, on-site no-cost food programs, health and wellness activities, and rental assistance and case management in partnership with the HUD-Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing (HUD-VASH) program. Every service made available to residents is to ensure that they feel safe, supported and at home. This was the mission of our late co-founder, Robinson “Robb” Lapp, this community’s namesake. Robb followed a lifelong commitment to improving the lives of the individuals and families around him, providing the necessary housing and supportive services that community members needed to meet their goals.
What’s next? Solving CO’s Housing Affordability Crisis
This year, we hosted our first affordable housing roundtable. This event brought together housing experts, developers, policymakers and industry leaders to ask and address the difficult questions surrounding Colorado’s growing housing crisis. Archway has been around for nearly 50 years, and we understand both the changes that Colorado’s housing landscape has experienced, and the challenges we face today. By bringing together organizations across a variety of sectors, we hope that we can facilitate and inspire change throughout the industry in the coming years.
Laura Brudzynski, Chief Operating Officer
This October, we welcomed Laura Brudzynski to the Archway team as our Chief Operating Officer. Laura has over a decade of experience working in Denver’s affordable housing landscape, her most recent experience being with the City of Denver. By connecting and partnering with others, Laura hopes to expand both our portfolio as well as the array of services that we provide, ultimately helping each and every one of our residents meet their goals. Pairing affordable housing options with supportive services is the foundation of Archway, and we look forward to expanding our reach to greater Colorado over the next few years.
